Downloading an album gives you just an archive of the pictures. plus, this app, when paid for, allows you to download your photos' metadata. However, when trying to download this album, Flickr doesn't allow me to. help forum and it looks like there's a limit of 500 photos in an album. How can I make only one album downloadable? I have them all in 1 folder

Have you done the "Request my Data" functionality in your Settings?

If you are trying download per Album: Try assembling those 3K+ images in a number of Albums, with just 200 per Album.

Or, if every picture on your stream IS already in an Album, download the existing Albums, from the download icon on the Album cover. If an Album contains more than 200, split it into halves. Smaller batches might give better download results.

Go to www.flickr.com/account, scroll down to "Request your data" and click the button to request all your photos in a set of .zip archives. Download them and extract on your PC. Some of your photos may be corrupted so try again if it happens.

There's a problem in Flickr where if u download a large zip file, the actual download process fails and you end up with a corrupted zip file.

I have faced this problem and many others have reported it since last year. It hasn't been fixed.

The only work around I have is to download it using FireFox (or other download manager) that allows you to retry and resume a download .. and keep retrying and resuming until you manage to successfully pull down the whole file.

I m going through this process now as I type this reply.

I requested my data 3 times over several months and get no response. I have over 6000 photos on flickr and I am not going to buy pro now or try and split them all into 30 different albums.

Hello everyone. I have over 13,000 photos on Flickr. I have tried repeatedly to download but get all sorts of issues. I would love to download in a zipped file each of my well over 100 albums with each album preserved in entirety without corrupt files and in the same sequence. Yahoo limits downloadable files to 25 mb - I have many albums well over that limit. Secondly although the zipping seems to work fairly well the sheer size etc... prevents me from opening usually let alone copying or downloading to another internet based picture storage site. I have been successful with individual files extracted but as you can imagine with the looming deadline of January 8 / 2019 and my own limited schedule combined with the above issues I am ....:(((((. I will try what MabelAmber suggested to see if that helps (change settings) but I rather doubt it. An issue has been that when I go to OPEN multiple files (i.e. copy them into another picture storeage site) I get the message that the computer cannot copy multiple files for this source. HELP! JG

Doing things one by one sometimes helps.

And your photos will not start being deleted till February 5.

Is it true?

Tx Marta- yes Yahoo introduced this I think in the past 12 months and they do rigoursly enforce this (autmoated no doubt!). Yeach -years of visual research, visual notetaking and archiving. Some hope but that I will not be able to access AFTER January 8/2019 as I will only have a FREE account and NOT PRO.
Any way to get the zipped files safely - I requested all of my previously non-downloaded albums today and they all came to my Yahoo box okay BUT of course most are not downlaodable or unzipped accessible. Any way to cut and copy this zipped files into another program that is readily available elsewhere, etc....? HELP! :(((

hospitalship1: I'm the same as you, tried umpteen times to download them but it always either fails or the zip folder is empty. There is no reply from Flickr when you mail them, I think they're hoping if they leave it long enough we'll have to pay the subscription fee. We have 4 more days before the cutoff time, they should really be working to sort this for their loyal customers, which I have been since the beginning of 2005!

Has nothing to do with Flickr, your statement only applies to attachments in Yahoo mail - see this Help Article:

help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN5673.html

Quote:
"The sum of all attached files in a single message, both for incoming and outgoing email, must not exceed 25MB in total file size."

(For that matter, most email programs have a limit to the size of attachments.)

The Searcher says:

Galway Nutter (Michelle): You have a MONTH before the deletions begin. The January 8th deadline is for when you won't be able to upload any new content if you're over the limit.

From the official topic, for the millionth time:

"Free members with more than 1,000 photos and/or videos uploaded to Flickr have until Tuesday, January 8, 2019, to upgrade to Pro or download content over that limit. After January 8, 2019, members over the limit will no longer be able to upload new photos to Flickr. After February 5, 2019, Free accounts that contain over 1,000 photos and/or videos will have content actively deleted—starting from oldest to newest date uploaded—to meet the new limit."

I got all my photos downloaded using the complete method for all my data from the settings section. Almost 14K photos.

However, it does not deal with all the meticulous organization I have already done with those photos into accurately detailed albums. So NOT helpful.

So now I am going album by album but even this is a royal Pain in the a** as the zip is this ridiculously random name instead of something useful like username-AlbumName. I get it probably can't be album name alone as the zips generated would end up conflicting with other potentially by I'm assuming everyone has a unique username. Maybe they don't?

Because of this you basically got to recreate a folder structure on your HD that mirrors all your albums then download each album zip into the correct HD folder. Unbelievably time-consuming.

Nothing like trying to make the process as painful as possible Flickr.

Anyone know a better or easier way to BOTH get all my photos AND retain their organization at the same time?

Galway Nutter (Michelle) says:

The Searcher: That's good if that's the case, but if Flickr are refusing to fix the issue they can give us all the time in the world but it's not going to make a difference. As you can see from other commenters further up the thread this is an ongoing problem that isn't being addressed by Flickr.

Ideally Flickr's bulk downloading tool should do the chore, but if you get fed up trying to make it work, you could try this one instead:

getbulkr.com/

(And of course notifying the Support Heroes is advisable anyhow.)

After you click on this Link (or go there from a link in the email), you will get to your Settings page, make sure you stay on the tab "Personal information" :

www.flickr.com/account

....you need to scroll down a little till you see the blue "Request my data" button, like on the screenshot - see to it that your browser zoom is 100%:

So you *did* actually press that button? And what happened? Were your photos downloaded, as expected?

Behind that link is the screenshot of her profile information, the misfiltering must be accidental.
