Introduction Edit

Modpack are an alternative way to install a mod. If you want to play multiplayer, you have to use modpacks.

Step 1: Edit

Find a modpack for Vox Populi. Last official version of the modpack can be found here. However, this version is rarely up to date, so you may need to search in the forum to find an up to date version.

Creating your own modpack is not very difficult, but takes some time. See here for a tutorial.

Step 2: Edit

• Search for the Civ's DLC folder. The path should be something like C:\...\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\Assets\DLC.
• If there is any folder named "ui_bc1" or "EUI" in the DLC folder, delete it (or cut/paste it elsewhere)
• Create a folder named "Z-MP_MODPACK" and extract all the mods into it such that there won't be any compressed file / folder. This folder's name starts with "Z" because the DLCs are loaded incrementally from an alphabetic order in the DLC folder and the modpack should be the last item that is to be loaded.
• Make sure the following:
  • Under the folder "Z-MP_MODPACK" within DLC folder, there must be a file with extension ".Civ5Pkg" that is directly accessible. This file defines the modpack.
  • Do not store other modpacks in the folder Assets or its' subfolders, instead, you can store the other possible modpacks within C:\...\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\.

Step 3: Edit

• Run the game. Do NOT use the mod menu, just play as if you were playing without any mods.
• If you plan to play multiplayer, first try a single player game in order to make sure that the modpack works.
• If you play multiplayer, everybody should have the same version of the modpack.
