Issue:
During the installation of Vault Server, the process is halted because one of the tests to check the server, failed.Causes:
The root cause of this message is a component of Internet Information Services (IIS) that is not installed or is configured incorrectly.Sometimes the reason for this is that the installation of IIS has become corrupted.
Vault needs certain IIS components to run correctly. Sometimes the reason is that the operating system being used does not support those IIS components. Therefore, neither does Vault
Solution:
- Check that the operating system being used is supported for the Edition and Version of Vault that you are using.
Where
Edition = Basic, Workgroup, Professional
Version = 2016, 2017, 2018 etc

- Click the "Re-test" button. (This has logic built into it to automatically fix some issues.)
- Click the "blue URL" link in the System test area for suggestions on how to resolve the issue.
- Uninstall and reinstall IIS.
- IIS can be reinstalled by the user Interface or by a script.

How to manually remove IIS and reinstall it using Powershell Scripts
- Check that IIS is running:
- Go to Start and type in CMD and press enter. At the command prompt type "iisreset /start".
- If IIS fails to start with a message that it cannot find a system file follow these steps:
- Navigate to: "C:\Users\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys\".
- Find These two keys:
- "d6d986f09a1ee04e24c949879fdb506c_*"
- "6de9cb26d2b98c01ec4e9e8b34824aa2_*"
- Right click the keys then go to the "Properties" then to "Security".
- Set the current User as "OWNER"
- Close Properties Dialog - and open again.
- Then in the Access Control List (ACL) set "full controll" for SYSTEM user.
