Downloading and Transferring Converted Client Files in ProSeries

How to download converted client files into ProSeries or ProSeries Basic Edition.
Solution
Before proceeding with the steps below, the current ProSeries Tax program will need to be installed before transferring your converted client data file(s).
Download your Converted Data
After the converted client files have been downloaded through the Tax Data Conversion Wizard, a dialog box will appear in the program requesting to close the program and then open the program to begin the transfer of the converted data files. Please close the ProSeries Tax program, then open the program and the converted client files will then begin to be transferred into the ProSeries Tax program. Depending on the number of client files that were submitted for data conversion, this process may take some time to complete.

Solution
Before proceeding with the steps below, the current ProSeries Tax program will need to be installed before transferring your converted client data file(s).
Download your Converted Data
- Open the ProSeries or ProSeries Basic Edition.
- Go to the Import menu, scroll to Client Data Conversion and select Download Converted Client Data.
- Choose the Tools menu for ProSeries Basic Edition
- ProSeries Basic Edition: Go to the Tools menu, scroll to Client Data Conversion and select Download Converted Client Data.
- Enter your Username and Password, and then click the Login button.
- The "Select the batch to download" screen will appear with a listing of the batch(es) that were submitted for data conversion.
- Check the box next to the completed batch you want to download and then click the Download button.
- If multiple submissions were made, only one batch can be selected at a time for download.
- Important! Converted data is downloaded into C:\ProWinYY\CompConversion. (YY=Tax Year)
- Click the Done button to close the Tax Data Conversion Wizard.
After the converted client files have been downloaded through the Tax Data Conversion Wizard, a dialog box will appear in the program requesting to close the program and then open the program to begin the transfer of the converted data files. Please close the ProSeries Tax program, then open the program and the converted client files will then begin to be transferred into the ProSeries Tax program. Depending on the number of client files that were submitted for data conversion, this process may take some time to complete.
Note: You will see two screen prompts asking you to transfer clients, one if clients currently do not exist in the HomeBase view, and the other prompt will be to transfer the converted tax files. Thus, if clients already exist in HomeBase you will only see one screen prompt to transfer converted tax files.
