Poi factory red light camera csv file downloads - consider

http://www.poi-factory.com/ is a great resource for points of interest of all types, focused mainly on US and Canada.
All POI files except for speed cameras and red light cameras (those are maintained and moderated by poi-factory staff) can be downloaded for free and only require a free registration.
Speed and red light camera files require a monthly payment ($9) or an annual payment ($20) and you are getting a month or a year worth of almost daily updates for that.
Formats provided are Garmin csv, Garmin gpx or Rand McNally csv. Speedometer in version 1.6 supports csv poi import, which makes most or all of the poi-factory files available for import.
If you downloaded Rand McNally file from poi-factory, please send it to yourself via email and import into speedometer using the "iGO" format option. For Garmin csv files, please use the first "Gamin csv" option.
Here is an example of how poi-factory red-light cameras look in the speedo app:
And here is a sample of speed cameras from poi-factory:

What are constraints?

1. Speed cams and red lights come in two files.

In version 1.6, speedometer only supports one active POI collection. You can only be alerted on either speed cams or red lights, whatever you set as an active collection.
Merge downloaded files yourself into iGO format, send by email, open in speedometer. You'd need to extract @XY speed limit information from Garmin files into a separate column in the iGO file. For TYPE of a poi provide 1 for a speed camera row, 2 for a combined red light and speed camera, 3 for a pure red light camera.
That sounds complicated and that's why we are in talks with poi-factory guys to provide better integration, hopefully allowing for effortless download and synchronization.

2. There is no direction, direction type and poi type information in the files.

That makes the alerts a bit more error prone, though speedo will tell you the POI name out loud and luckily poi-factory has some information embedded into it that will help you understand what's ahead. Here is a sample of a speed cam poi name:
"R/Speed 45 - Chandler & 56th @45"
And that's what speedometer will tell you, so you'll know the street crossing and the speed limit measured.
As there is no poi type information, speedometer will not know which icon to use for the POI. But luckily you can set a default POI type. Open the imported collection in the the speedometer and set that type to speed cams or red lights respectively:

Tap on row with number 1 above to open collection alert properties, #2 will take you to that default type we are talking about and button #3 will allow you to share the collection.
This is it! Try it and let us know what it is your experience! We are not total strangers to poi-factory.com and will try to become a good friend, so you can benefit from that!
