How do Fry’s digital coupons & the Fry’s app work?  How does the Fry’s cashback program work?  Learn here with our free tutorial!  We do weekly Arizona coupon matchups to make list-making & saving on groceries easy.

I’m going to focus on the digital aspect of saving at Fry’s here since I know many don’t want to hassle with paper coupons & just want to master digital savings.  I get it … simply click!

Understanding Fry’s App & Online Downloadable Coupons

Fry’s VIP Card & Online Account

If you don’t have a Fry’s VIP card, it’s free.  You will need it for all sale prices and digital discounts.

If you already have a card but haven’t registered it online, you will need to link that card to an online account for added digital savings.  You will only have to do this once and be set for loading all their digital offers.  Register here or download their app and sign in.

Fry’s App

The app is optional.  You can access everything you’ll need through their website, but I love having it while I shop.

You can verify that you loaded a coupon or search for coupons.  You can also scroll down on the coupon and see what specific items the coupon includes.

Within the app, you can scan barcodes to check prices or see if there are any digital coupons to load.  (Click the barcode icon on the top right and scan the product.)  Pricing isn’t 100% accurate, but it’s nice to see if there’s a coupon you can quickly load.

It’s also super simple to check your fuel points with the app.

Fry’s Manufacturer Digital Coupons

Fry’s has regular manufacturer coupons in their app or online.

They’re easy to find on their website or from their app.  On their website, go to “Save” and then choose “Digital Coupons.”  In their app, simply choose “Coupons” from the bottom menu bar.

If you use our lists, we give a direct link to many of the digital coupons, so searching won’t always be necessary.  With those links, you will get right to the exact coupon you want, and you won’t need to search for it.

Without direct links, you can use the different search functions to locate the coupon you’re looking for.  You can search by brand name, category, most recent, etc.

If you’re logged in, you will have a “My Coupons” tab online or a “Clipped” tab in your app.  Use that to see what coupons you already have loaded.

You can only have 150 digital offers loaded at the same time.  Once a coupon hits its expiration, it automatically disappears and makes room for others.

If you change your mind later, you are able to remove coupons and make room for others.  (There are a few exceptions, like when you win something in their instant win games.)  Click what you think you’ll use, but don’t go too crazy since they have many more than 150.  “Accidental” savings for something you buy is always a nice surprise.

After you click to load the coupon, most digital coupons are just like paper coupons.  They can be used once when you buy the correct product(s) listed.  If you buy additional products, the digital discount will only come off the first product(s).

If you click on a digital coupon, more details will show up.  At the bottom, you’ll see a list all the varieties that are included.  Every once in awhile, you’ll be surprised that something is included, like a small size that’s really cheap already.  Or, the text of the coupon may say it’s only good on one flavor or variety and you’ll discover it’s really good on others.

You may not use these digital coupons with another paper coupon.  If you try, the cashier will give your paper coupon back and say you already have one loaded.  You can unload coupons before shopping, but the cashier can’t take a digital coupon off.  The loaded coupon gets priority over the paper one, even if the value is lower.  Don’t load a coupon, if you have a higher value paper coupon unless you plan on getting enough to cover the requirements of both coupons.

Always check to make sure all your digital coupons came off, after getting your receipt.  If something went wrong, head to customer service and they’ll fix it.

If you don’t notice an error until you get home, you can go to customer service the next time you’re there.  They usually believe me, but I always bring the product back, so I can return it if they won’t make the proper adjustment.  I also screenshot the digital coupon that didn’t come off (especially if it’s going to expire and won’t be there), so I can show them if needed.

Fry’s 5X or 3X Use Digital Coupons

In the same area as the other Fry’s digital coupons, sometimes there are 5X coupons.  (They have added occasional 3X coupons, so be on the lookout for those too.)  They are clearly labeled as “5X” and are an exception to the “one coupon per product” rule.  The discount will come off (up to) five of the same products if you get them all in the same transaction.

You used to only be able to use these coupons once and then they disappeared.  That’s still the case sometimes.

But, sometimes they now remain and are able to be used in another transaction (for up to 5 items), until the expiration date… stress on “sometimes.”  You can’t count on it 100%.  Just make sure the coupon is showing before your purchase if you’re trying to use it a second time.

When there are a bunch of 5X use digital coupons advertised in their weekly ad, they will usually have the same deals the following week and the same coupons will be valid, again.  The expiration date is usually two weeks out, from when they are first made available.  Again, check to make sure it’s still there if you loaded & used it the first week, but those shown in their ad should be.

These digital coupons state that they cannot be used with another coupon (digital or paper).  The reality is that if you also load another manufacturer coupon for the same product (if available), it will probably come off, along with the 5X use coupon.  With two regular manufacturers’ digital coupons, this will not happen.

Your store might also accept a paper manufacturer coupon with these 5x coupons, but it’s up to each store and you can’t count on it.  Since the coupons state they can’t be used with another coupon, they are following their own guidelines.

The 5X coupons seem to be programmed in their system to be more like a sale or store coupon.  Since the additional discount can vary from store to store and it is against their written policy, we never put a final price on our list that combines these coupons with another digital or paper coupon.

You will have to ask your store or watch your receipt, to see if your store allows combining another digital or paper coupon with these special 5X coupons.  You can not expect this extra discount, especially with the 5X digital weekend coupons they often have available.

The weekend offers vary and some weeks are a dud, but some weeks are awesome!!

Fry’s Weekend Digital Coupons

Update:  It seems that this isn’t consistently happening anymore since Covid-19.  I’m not sure if they’ll bring it back soon or not.

Often, Fry’s will offer weekend digital coupons.  The exact days vary, but they usually give you 2-3 days to shop.  You can load those coupons on Wednesday, right up through the day of the sale.

They are 5X use coupons, which means you can get up to five of the product, as long as you make the purchase in one transaction.  The products included are usually offered at a rock bottom price and make it easy to stock up since you can get five of each.

The ad always states “While supplies last.”  Most stores will not give rain checks for these products, so get there early if you really want the item(s).

Every once in a while they will extend the dates on the coupon, usually, if the warehouse is low and not enough customers are able to get the offer.  If that’s the case, you’ll notice a later date on your digital coupon.  This is rare, but be watching if your store was out of stock.

Fry’s Best-Customer Bonus Offers

Sometimes you’ll receive an email before coupons appear.  Other times Best-Customer offers just appear with your other digital coupons and/or you’ll get an email after you already loaded them.

These are exclusive offers that are only valid for you.  You click to load them, just like any other digital coupon offer.  They are often for products you have purchased, sometimes even a freebie is thrown in.

The expiration dates are usually fairly far out, so you have a while to take advantage of the offers.

There is a separate category for these “Best-Customer Bonus” offers.  You can choose to sort them this way and view only these coupons, in the app or online.  Just don’t forget you chose this filter, the next time you’re looking for coupons.  You don’t want to be stuck seeing only these.

Fry’s First Friday Freebie

Update:  This is not as consistent as it used to be.  There isn’t always an offer.

This link gives you direct access to the weekly freebie coupon.  The freebies usually show up on the first Friday of each month, but it is always subject to change.  Every once in a while, there will be an extra one available.

This digital offer is also available in the coupon section of their app or with their other digital coupons on their website.  We will also have it on our weekly shopping lists and we remind you on the Friday that it’s available.

You must load the coupon on Friday, but you have about two weeks before the coupon will expire.  The last day you can pick up your item will be listed on the coupon.

The items vary in value, but it’s usually somewhere between $1 and $3.  Previous offers have included items like candy, nutrition bars, chips, drinks, cheese, and pasta.

When you use your Fry’s VIP card, you’ll see the value of the item subtracted, under the product listed on your receipt.

The most recent freebie is often on display up front by the registers, so start your search there.

Sometimes, your store will run out of the item or not even carry the product.  Don’t be shy about asking if they’ll substitute it for something else.  If the cashier is unable to make a substitution, you can ask a manager.  Most stores are good about giving you something similar as a replacement, but it’s not guaranteed.

Fry’s Grocery Pick Up & Delivery (Formerly ClickList Digital Offers)

There are some coupons that are only valid for grocery pickup or delivery customers. (They have renamed this “Grocery Pickup” instead of ClickList.)

If you place an online order, digital coupons will be deducted when the qualifying purchase is made and you pick up your order or it’s delivered.  Your cart total will be higher than you actually end up paying.

Fry’s Cashback Offers

Fry’s has a cashback program.  Instead of the discount coming off at the register, it accumulates in your account.  All you have to do is make the correct purchase after you load the offer.

You click to load the offers, just like you would a digital coupon.  Offers you choose are counted as part of your 150 digital coupon limit.

Check the limit of each cashback offer.  Often, you can get up to 5 of the same product at the same time!  And, even better … they are often the same offers Ibotta has available.  You can double dip and get things super cheap, free, or even make some money from time to time.   More on how Ibotta works here.

To use/spend the money you accumulate, you have to go in and click “Send to Shopper’s Card” to activate what you’ve earned.  After you do that, the next time you shop, you’ll be asked if you want to use your credit to lower your total.

It can’t be used on normal exclusions like gas, gift cards, alcohol, lottery, etc.  If you don’t use the full amount, it can be used on your next purchase.

If you prefer, you can wait until you hit $20 and request a Paypal payment.

Unfortunately, things go wrong from time to time.  Save your receipt until you receive the credit.  You’ll have to call Fry’s customer service if you have issues getting a credit.  I’d give them about 5 days, though you will probably see it in 3 or less.
