Forum:Deleting Patches and DLCs on PS3?

Can patches and/or DLCs be deleted once installed on the PS3? If so, how can the deletions be accomplished?

In order to delete the patches, you must delete the game data. Go into your PS3 game menu, look for game data, and delete the game data. Then, reinstall the game from the disk. This will restore your game to the original unpatched version. Be aware that you will lose any Old World Blues and Lonesome Road content. Not sure about Courier's Stash or Gun Runner's Arsenal. The DLC's will still be installed, you just will not have access to them. It might also cause a problem with your existing saves. That has never happened to me, but you never know.
Whe you reinstall from the disk and start the game, you will be prompted to download patches and restart the game. You can opt out of the patches by pressing the "O" button (I think it's the "O" button....) when the prompt comes up, but it will prompt you every time you start the game. To avoid this prompt, you can disable your PS3's net connection, but this will obviously prevent you from using your PS3 online.
TO delete DLC, go into game data and look for the Fallout New Vegas DLC. directory. From what I understand, ALL DLC's are stored here, so deleting this means that any DLC that you actually want you'll have to re-download it and reinstall it. Could be wrong on this point though, since I've never actually done it myself. 207.245.200.54 08:18, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
