Protect Yourself From Tech Support Scams
Tech support scams are an industry-wide issue where scammers trick you into paying for unnecessary technical support services. You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number.
This is Wil, one of the independent advisor, an expert with Windows 10 and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand your concern about the MOV file converter.
There are actually a lot of 3rd party converters on the web but it will be hard to find a working and safe converter. I would rather suggest downloading a player that would enable you to play MOV files. You may try to check this MOV player that you can download from Microsoft Store app. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/mov-viewer-fr...
You may also try to use a VLC player since that is a media player that plays most of the video format. https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
I hope the information I provided will help you. If you need further assistance please do reply back and I will respond as quickly as possible. Have a nice day.
Thanks,
Wilfred P.

Hello Wilfred,
The app that you recommended does not look good in any way. Every single review gives one star and says that the app either crashes upon opening it or that the app does not work. Therefore, I do not trust the app. In addition, I have already done research on the VLC player you recommended and found that either it is not compatible with Windows 10 or it is not compatible with viewing/playing MOV files.
If I didn't know any better, I would jump to conclusions and say that your answer was made by a bot or an automated system, judging by the way you phrase parts of your answer. But, I do know better and I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.
Anyways, I am looking for a safe, reliable way to convert .MOV to .MP4 so that my dad can play videos on his computer that were recorded on his iPhone.
I appreciate the effort to try and help me. However, I am sorry to say that this isn't the answer I am looking for. I hope you have a nice day. Stay safe and healthy!
Thank you,
Damariobros

Sorry if you thought that the response that you got is from an automated system. I just want to respond in a formal way. Anyway, the MOV player is the MOV player that I found on the Microsoft Store. If you want to convert the MOV file to an MP4 file using a safe and reliable program, Adobe Premiere Rush is what I saw on the web. There are a lot of applications or websites that claim can do the job but I doubt that it can. With regards to the VLC player, personally, it is currently installed on my Windows 10 and that is what I am using to play my MOV files that came from my iPad Mini 2 (screenshot below).
Thanks,
Wilfred P.
