Installation
The easiest and safest way to install Photoshop Panels is to use the free third-party software Anastasiy’s Extension Manager.
With Anastasiy’s Extension Manager (Win/Mac)
You need admin rights for this installation. You will be asked to enter a password. If this doesn’t work, please use the manual installation guide below.
- Download and install the free software Anastasiy’s Extension Manager (Win & Mac).
- Download the FX-Panel from your download area and unzip it.
- Close Adobe Photoshop.
- Open Anastasiy’s Extension Manager and either drag the FX-Panel.zxp file into the app or hit the Install button in the menu and select FX-Panel.zxp manually.
- Enter your system username and password.
- You get a notification, once the installation was successful. Close Anastasiy’s Extension Manager and open Photoshop, then go to Window > Extensions > FX-Panel.
If you experience any trouble with Anastasiy’s Extension Manager, please try the ZXP-Installer.
Some people get an antivirus warning, when trying to unpack the .zip file. We use JavaScript for the FX-Panel, which some antivirus software mistakenly recognize as an issue. Please check your antivirus software support page for more informations.
Step-by-Step manual installation guide (Win/Mac)
Manuell installation will work without admin rights. But if you want to add scripts (step 8 + 9), you do need to have them. The FX-Panel will work flawlessly, even without those scripts. But they are necessary if you want to use global shortcuts.
- Download the FX-Panel from your download area and unzip it.
- Close Adobe Photoshop.
- Rename the FX-Panel.zxp to FX-Panel.zip.
- Unzip the FX-Panel.zip file. You get a couple of files and folders. Two folders are important: HTML and SCRIPT.
- In the HTML folder, there is another FX-Panel.zxp file. You should be able to install this file with Anastasiy’s Extension Manager, even without admin rights. If you succeed, continue with step 8.
- If Anastasiy’s Extension Manager still didn’t work, rename the FX-Panel.zxp to FX-Panel.zip and unzip it. You get an FX-Panel folder. You need this folder for the next step.
- Copy the FX-Panel folder from step 6 to the Adobe Extensions location (see path below). The FX-Panel is now installed.
- Navigate to the Photoshop Scripts location (see path below) and create a new folder “FX-Panel”.
- Copy the files from the SCRIPTS folder (from step 4) to the FX-Panel folder from step 8 (Photoshop Scripts location).
- Open Photoshop, then go to Window > Extensions > FX-Panel.
