While downloading a torrent using Vuze (Azureus), what does "Error: resume data fails" mean?
There should be further info to the error after that.
I have seen a resume data error in Vuze for different reasons.
Saving a large file (>4GB) to a FAT32 drive. - Drive needs to be converted to NTFS
A corrupted file in the download. - usually have to discard the partial download and start over -
Not enough RAM (too many programs running)
There have also been some situations where there has been no explanation.
Edit: That error is either a corrupted file (if it only happens on this torrent) or a lack of permission to write to the download location (if it happens on all torrents) or a indexing program (like Google Desktop) using the download folder.
If it is the first, you probably have to delete the partial download and try again.
If it is the second, that usually results from the download saving to the Application Data folder (or some other protected area-usually on Vista). Changing the download location to My Documents should resolve that.
You can change at Tools>Options>Files.
If it is the 3rd, then either exclude the download folder from the indexer or disable the indexer.
As far as speed this guide to setting Vuze up for vest speed has info to help:
