Opinion you: Chrome pdf opens up after download

Chrome won't automatically open a pdf online. I have already went to settings and PDF, no help. 0 Recommended Answers 26 Replies140 Upvotes
Chrome will open the PDF from Gmail in a window, but when I choose to PRINT, another window opens and it is just grey. As of two days ago, it used to open the other window with another PDF and the print dialog box. Now I have to choose either Open In Acrobat Reader or Open online from the grey open window. If I choose to open using Acrobat I can go from there and print, but this is taking extra steps. I have tried the following.
Open PDFs in Chrome
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More
Settings.
- At the bottom, click Advanced.
- Under "Privacy and security," click Site settings.
- Near the bottom, click PDF documents.
- Turn off Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome.
Chrome will now open PDFs automatically when you click them.
This has NOT fixed the problem. Can anyone please help?

Me too. This started a couple of weeks ago with a new grocery store site. I originally blamed the site, but have had problems with other PDF files since then. And I tried using MS Edge for the grocery store site and was able to see the PDF, so it's NOT the site, it's something to do with the browser from what I can see.

Same here. Some customers purchasing digital documents, using Chrome on PC, get a blank screen when opening PDFs. They can save/download without opening but can no longer view the PDF in the browser.

Some people reported that disabling the McAfee extension fixes this problem. However, I do not have this extension and the problem still exists. I have also disabled downloads so the PDF should open in the browser, but it is not.

bump because I have been having this problem and it's really bothering me when i basically have to click print twice, the extra tab is annoying. Please let me know if there is a fix for this, would save me loads of time!
